Prabhas Gets Salaar 2 Update: Prashanth Neel Announces June 2027 Reveal

Prabhas' 47th birthday brought a teaser for Fauzi and a major Salaar 2 update from director Prashanth Neel. Find out what the filmmaker revealed about June 2027 and how the sequel fits into Prabhas' upcoming movie schedule.

Prabhas, known as the ‘Rebel Star’ of Telugu cinema, turned 47 recently, and his fans celebrated the occasion with great enthusiasm. The superstar also gave them reasons to celebrate, beginning with the release of the teaser for his upcoming film Fauzi. He then shared a brief but significant update about Salaar 2, the sequel to his blockbuster film Salaar.

On Prabhas’ birthday, director Prashanth Neel, known for making films such as KGF and Salaar, visited the actor. Prabhas was with Hanu Raghavapudi, the director of his upcoming film Fauzi. A video shows Prabhas meeting Neel, who had arrived to wish him on his birthday. However, the actor had a special request for the filmmaker: an update on Salaar 2 as his birthday gift.

Responding to Prabhas, Prashanth Neel said he would share a major update about Salaar 2 in June next year. He repeated the announcement while looking directly at the camera, giving fans a specific month to look forward to.

The announcement has raised expectations that June 2027 could bring news about the film’s production or release date. It remains unclear whether filming will begin around that time, the release date will be announced, or Neel will reveal something else about the project. The exact nature of the announcement will become clear when the filmmaker shares further details.

Interestingly, Prashanth Neel is also expected to bring Dragon, starring Jr NTR and Anil Kapoor, next June. The film was announced several months ago. Fans may therefore see an update on Salaar 2 around the time of Dragon’s release, although no specific announcement schedule has been confirmed beyond Neel’s statement about June 2027.

Prabhas’ sequel is titled Salaar: Part 2 – Shouryaanga Parvam. The film will focus on the next chapter in the stories of Deva, played by Prabhas, and Varadaraja Mannar, played by Prithviraj Sukumaran.

The film series follows Deva and Varadaraja, two childhood friends who grow up amid the power struggles of Khansaar. Their friendship eventually breaks down because of the same struggle for power that shapes their lives. The sequel is expected to continue their story, building on the conflict established in the first film.

The latest update has added to the anticipation surrounding Prabhas’ upcoming projects, particularly as several of his films are scheduled or expected to arrive in 2027.

How Will 2027 Shape Up for Prabhas?

Prabhas began this year with The Raja Saab, which performed poorly at the box office. His film Fauzi was initially scheduled to release in December this year, but its release has now been postponed to March 19, 2027.

The actor is also set to return during the Diwali period next year with Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit, which has been announced for October 29, 2027. Meanwhile, there is also discussion about the sequel to Kalki arriving in the same year.

Alongside these projects, preparations for Salaar 2 are also expected to begin. With Fauzi scheduled for March 2027, Spirit announced for October 29, 2027, and further developments anticipated around Salaar 2, the coming year could be significant for Prabhas’ film slate.

For fans of the Rebel Star, the next major milestone is likely to be the promised June 2027 announcement from Prashanth Neel. Whether it brings confirmation of filming, a release date, or another major development, the update could offer a clearer picture of the next chapter in the Salaar franchise.
